As educators, we sometimes see how we can exhibit leadership roles on campus, but only rarely do we step out to contribute our talents as part of the community. This doesn't mean that one has to run for office; teachers can can make a difference for those near and far in a variety of ways, and those efforts can be personally and professionally rewarding. We'll look at several approaches to getting involved in your community, and at the same time how doing so can help students see their possibilities for making a difference.
